CEDAR Volunteer Testimonials

My Dang: Graduate, UBC Science

CEDAR was a very unique summer camp from a volunteer’s perspective since the ratio of campers to staff is low enough that you get to really bond with the kids and the other volunteers. It was fun to see the kids so excited about the lab facilities and at the UBC farm. It is an exceptionally rewarding experience that has inspired me to continue to work with children in an educational setting.

Lesley Anderson: 3rd Year, Emily Carr University

The time I have devoted to CEDAR camp over the past two years has been a positive and rewarding experience. The environment offers the opportunity to build lasting friendships with the campers and the fellow volunteers. The kids were an engaging group, fun to be with, to play with and to learn with. It was a pleasure to get to know the kids over time and share what I do/study with them, and the program activities were always as informative and enjoyable for the camp leaders as it was for the campers. The most memorable aspect for myself as a volunteer was returning to CEDAR to see familiar faces and friends from the year before.
