Indigenous Student Collegium at the Longhouse

The First Nations House of Learning, in partnership with UBC Collegia, now offers Indigenous Student Collegium (ISC) at the First Nations Longhouse.

The First Nations Longhouse has long been considered a home away from home for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students on UBC’s Vancouver campus. Now there’s a new space inside the Longhouse (formerly the Social Lounge) for Indigenous students to meet and gather.

Staffed by a team of advisors who are students themselves, the ISC will let you connect with an Indigenous elder or UBC professor, make lunch or meet up with friends between classes, or take part in cultural practices like smudging and community practices like talking circles. It’s there for you to find and build your community at UBC.

So whether you’re living on or off campus, you’ve been here for a while or you’re just getting started, you’re invited to visit and become part of Indigenous Student Collegium.
